REVIEW & GIVEAWAY! Reisenthal Market Tote by Nicole Jane Home

Most Americans know very little about shopping baskets except those we see in our local grocery store or pharmacy when we go in to pick up a few items. Instead of a rolling shopping cart, we might pick up one of the little plastic baskets with handles, available near the checkout, to throw a few items into. But in Europe, shopping baskets are an essential! Unlike us lazy Americans, most Europeans walk to the market and take their mode of transporting their purchases with them. No European would be caught browsing a market or pharmacy without their trusty shopping basket!

Used all over Europe, the Reisenthal basket is an ideal shape and size for those trips to your local farmers market or those annual festivals that take place in the spring and fall. In fact, I just took mine along to the local Farmers’ Market Fall Festival! Having used mine recently, I can tell you that it beats those plastic bags by a country mile!

The basket has a lightweight aluminum frame and polyester covering—mine is the art deco pattern, and I find all sorts of uses for it every day! The frame and the covering are durable and easy to clean. The rigid bottom and protective feet make it easy to put down your basket while you browse without fear that everything will topple out. I don’t like shopping bags or totes for this very reason.

Typically, I don’t enjoy shopping baskets because when I drape the handle over my arm, it leaves a bruise. If I hold it in my hands, I sometimes get a little pinch when the handles (that are poorly made) grab my fingers. But the Reisenthal basket has a thick rubber-grip handle that makes it comfortable to carry—no bruises even when I fill it to the brim!

And right now, mine is filled with magazines and books in anticipation of a weekend away, filled with reading and relaxation.

There’s a lot to love about this basket and I found it hard to narrow my favorite features down to just one thing. I love that the basket collapses easily for storage. Assembly is simple–expand the lightweight handle from the frame and lock in the up position. I keep mine in the back of my car so that I’m never without it when I decide to make a local run to buy some produce or hit one of the antique (think more in the area of junk) stores. It’s perfect for putting those small items into.

Here’s my other favorite feature—the basket has an inner zippered pocket for carrying your wallet, cell phone, keys and other essentials. Primo feature! Thin inserts are provided to give extra support along the sides. You don’t have to carry your purse!

Like all Reisenthel products, it is very high quality (this is the real deal—not a cheap knockoff)! An updated version of the classic wicker basket, the Reisenthel Market Basket is an ideal tool for groceries if you’re into keeping our planet green. Use in place of plastic baskets to shop, pack and haul home Reisenthel materials are remarkably durable, featuring designs that add a refreshing dash of color to normally mundane looking products. Bold colors and fashion forward prints turn heads.

The Reisenthal Market Tote is about the same size as a traditional shopping basket when open. It measures 19” x 12” x 11” and has a 25 liter volume (about 6 gallons).

Based in South Surrey, BC, Nicole Jane Home brings you stylish, high-quality products delivered right to your door. Whenever and wherever it’s convenient, just pull up a chair, pour a cup of tea and shop to your heart’s content, without ever leaving your home or office.

Okay, so Nicole Jane Home is convenient . . . but do they have what you’re looking for? Sure thing! Nicole Jane Home carries the latest trends and styles to help you create beautiful room scapes with the style and ambiance you want. If you’re looking for a special gift, they have just the thing! Nicole Jane Home shops the world so you don’t have to!

I took a little shopping tour today, and here are a few of the things I found and put into my shopping basket:

Celebrate the changing seasons with this exquisite set of 4 glass squash (each 4″). Each set is individually hand/mouth-blown high quaity glass. Collect the amber or clear, or mix and match both for a stunning display of Fall’s favourite harvest. These would look great on your Thanksgiving table.

I always find a need to use card tables at Christmas–for my dessert table or beverages–but I can never find a pretty cloth for a table that size. Usually, I wind up with something way too large or I settle (and I do mean settle) for paper or plastic. Anybody who has been to my home for a meal knows that I hate settling for ugly paper and plastic ware! I use it, but only if it’s really pretty! I am so excited to find a square tablecloth for my holiday festivities at Nicole Jane Home! I ordered two of these–a solid and a print for layering! These April Cornell Table Linens (they are exquisite) start at $24.99. You’ll love browsing the table linens from Nicole Jane Home.

Truly, it’s all at the touch of your fingers. Shop the site, place your order, and wait for everything to arrive at your doorstep. And don’t worry! If everything isn’t just the way you like it, Nicole Jane Home has a hassle-free return policy. I haven’t returned a single item I’ve purchased, but I can tell you a little about Nicole Jane Home’s customer service . . . It’s simply the best! Period! You’re notified when your order is shipped and if anything is delayed for any reason, you’re notified that the item is delayed and why.

When the item ships, my dear friend Jennifer who is the brains behind Nicole Jane Home, tracks the order and sends you an email on THE day the order is to arrive telling you to look for your shipment! (I love that about her!) Not only does she notify you to look for your package, but she asks if you’re pleased with your order and she truly wants to know!

Nicole Jane Home is big enough to bring you a wide selection of great items for your home and gift giving but small enough to bring you that wonderful personal touch that I so appreciate when I shop!

I have SO many uses for this bag! Right now I am honored to be the matron of honor in my best friend’s wedding next month. I’m three hours away from her and have been traveling back and forth doing my M.O.H. duties and I always have bags of stuff. This would be perfect to help me stay organized and not forget what I need to take the next trip!
